I just got to say ep 20 was so so good for so many reasons but god was it great for Loli and her arc like AH WHAT A GUT PUNCH. But I'm sure many people have spoken or are going to talk about her arc in general so I really just want to point out two things that meant a lot to me in the way Loli was TREATED by the animators and writers in her big scene. So thank you team for:

  1. LETTING HER RAGE

Letting Loli experience her grief through rage and incredible violence. There were no punches pulled, she was allowed to be devastated in an ANGRY way not just sensitive pretty crying but FURY AND RAGE AND DESPERATION. And she was allowed to express that rage through pummeling the shit out of the enemy in the most brutal way possible like HOLY FUCK I don't remember the last time I saw this much rage being allowed for a female character in an anime, she beat someones face in with a CRATE!!!

2. NOT SEXUALIZING HER

It only now occurred to me that I think I saw no women being sexualized at all in the entire anime when I saw this scene. Loli is able to go so ape shit she destroys the entire top part of her suit to get an edge on Nice and she's appropriately covered under it and not once does the camera zoom in anywhere or try to use this moment of grief and rage to do a little fanservice. Like I've seen anime where in the OPENING SCENES a woman fighting has her clothes destroyed so her boobs can jiggle out sexily, the fact that Loli is able to purposefully destroy her suit to beat the ever loving shit out of Nice and still stay portrayed with respect is sooooo fucking refreshing.
